The Vila de Ferragudo is a parish in the municipality of Lagoa (Algarve). The name Ferragudo appeared due to an iron device placed on the beach that served to haul fish and heavy goods from boats to land. The beloved village located at the mouth of the Rio Arade is full of typical houses and stunning landscapes. The town has always been linked to the sea and the river, and from an early age it was allied with the salting of fish by the Romans until a recent past linked to the canning industry. Its fantastic beaches, the blue sea, the fishing village full of customs and of course the good climate, are characteristics of this land that offer many options for accommodation and restaurants. We invite you to visit this locality that, although it has evolved, we can still understand the mystique of this Algarve people!
