Monchique

Between mountains and countryside, we reach Monchique. This picturesque, stone-walled village shows the other side of the coin of Algarve - not just beach and sun. Starting on the road to the village, the view is painted by green mountains and, if you pay attention, you will certainly see the storks' nests residing in the area. First stop at Termas de Monchique, then go to the village for lunch and pass by the traditional shops. Take the opportunity to rest, as you still have to climb to Fóia - the highest point in the Algarve. A breathtaking view, which merges the mountain with the sea, where you can clearly see the city of Portimão. Make a few stops on the way up and take the opportunity to take a short walk through nature.
