GM Equestrian

GM Equestrian was created at the beginning of 2019 by José Gomes and Cátia Maria, both animal lovers from a young age with a special affection for horses. José began his journey with these animals in 1985 at just 7 years old at a free fair in his homeland - Feira de S.Mateus where he rode a pony for the first time, of which he was promised a foal the following year (so that he would get off her back), a promise that was never forgotten. Over the years, in addition to being a rider, he also became a trainer with the aim of instilling a new generation of riders with love and respect for the horses. Cátia has been passionate about horses since she was young, however, due to a lack of resources to practice this sport, she was only able to start at the age of 17 (2013) when Xanana was introduced to her. Xanana belonged to a family friend and it was love at first sight. After 1 year of negotiations with her parents, Xanana came to the Algarve to change the life of this young rider, meeting José, then the farm's coach, where she was able to start her classes in Show Jumping and Dressage, in which she participated in some regional championships. Later, after major changes in their lives, they end up working together at a Riding School without ever expecting it, a relationship is born between them and with it the first sketches of GM Equestrian. Our goal is to provide a safe and healing environment for all the horses we take in, as well as to instill in everyone we interact with, the balance and beauty of a good relationship with a horse. GM Equestrian welcomes you with open arms as all the horse's friends are our friends too.
