Fontes de Estômbar

The Sítio das Fontes de Estômbar is one of the most popular leisure areas in the municipality of Lagoa for those who enjoy contact with nature. Situated on the left bank of the River Arade, it has always functioned as a kind of river beach where the people of Estômbar used to go for a dip, picnics and spend moments of rest and socializing. In 1989, the 18-hectare space was acquired by the Câmara de Lagoa, which recovered the tide mill, the miller's house and added some spaces, such as the small building that serves as a reception, the guardhouse, the toilets, the amphitheater, the picnic area, the maintenance circuit and a small dock and converted an old rural building into an Interpretation Center for Nature.
