Alvor Castle

The castle has a quadrangular plan, with its walls, in the Islamic style, erected with irregular stone blocks arranged horizontally, rising to more than five meters in height in different stretches. The existence of an adarve is deduced by the existence of a ladder attached to the south sector of the wall, although the current state of the monument does not allow to say whether the walls were endowed. The main elbow access door is the last remaining original element, believed to have been originally defended by an albarrã tower. To the east, one can see the remains of a tower that, depending on its height, would have allowed the observation of movement in the cove.
